Welcome, here you will find a good build you can have for Yellow Minstrel. It’s built specifically for having the max DPS support, while having decent healing capacity and being able to remove corruptions efficient in high-end Raids and Instances.

Yellow Minstrels are a niche spec and groups use them when they need extra DPS on a particular fight, as Yellow Minstrels get an unique Anthem of Prowess skill, which is not available while in Blue line. Furthermore, Yellow Line also enhances Anthem of the Third Age, making it give additional damage and gives a passive Tale bonus, which can be quite useful for the Fellowship.

With everything considered, Yellow Minstrels make a great Off-Healer and a very good asset to the team if group DPS is a important requirement.

Stat Goals

The best stat to have as a Healer in general is Critical Rating, along with Outgoing Healing. Vitality is pretty important as well, so you don’t waste valuable time healing yourself instead your group members. Yellow Minstrels can also use a good amount of Finesse if Corruption Removal is a requirement. Generally they keep some Finesse swap items, which they replace Vitality with.

Critical Rating > Outgoing Healing > Vitality > Finesse

(These stats are acquired from Essences, Virtues, LIs, etc.)

With Endgame gear and correct placement of Essences, Virtues and so on, self buffed stats should be around:

Critical Rating~580,000
Outgoing Healing75%
(Hover on Tactical Mastery)
Finesse30% (If manageable)

* While you are gearing up, first remove all Essences from your current Gear. Then slot the right Virtues (more down on that down below) and then slot Essences as per the Stat goals. This way you can plan your setup better, and utilize Essences perfectly, and can dump the remaining Essences in Vitality or other Stat of your choice after meeting Stat goals mentioned above.


The Armour Set from Remmorchant Raid called ‘Unmatched Prowess’ is really good for making Anthem of Prowess even stronger. It increases the buff gained by the Anthem by additional 5% Attack Speed. So, 4x of that set and 3x of the new Healing set from FoKD Raid, which also reduces Induction times by 10%.

Starter Build

This Build is intended for those who just want to play solo and do not wish to participate in Instances, Raids and Lootboxes. The 130 Level Gear from this Build can be acquired just by doing Solo dailies (and some Crafting) from different late-game Zones, such as from Wilderland and Elderslade. As for Essences, you can drag/drop ones you get from Questing or Crafting (whichever Tier is fine), just try to follow the Stat Goals above and Slot the ones which are needed by your Class.

*Note: If you do not have the resources/solvents for Slade-wrought (Tier 6) Essences, then you can use Tier 4 or Tier 5 Essences, and they are still good enough for all content!

Trait Trees

There’s generally two ways of traiting a Yellow Minstrel, first way is to build for a balanced Heals and Anthems setup, and the second is to build purely for complete Yellow, which gives access to more utility such as Call to Greatness etc.

First Tree for better healing while in Yellow:

In this Tree, you get the best healing and induction times possible, while being in Yellow Line.

Next, here is the second Tree, which gives all utilities from Yellow Line:

This Tree has all the utility from Yellow Tree, such as a little extra damage from Ballads which will be shared to the group, extra targets for Bubbles, some damage reflects, Call to Greatness skill and lastly much more Corruption Removal capacity, as Critical Ballads will reset the cooldown of Piercing Cry.

These are the virtues I use to reach the Stat Goals. You can play around with these to get the numbers you want, but I would not recommend using any Mits virtues (apart from Fidelity) as you don’t gain much from them.

Virtues for Minstrel.

By using these Virtues, I reach my Stat Goals, while still maintaining a good Morale pool.

  1. Honesty (Great for extra Outgoing Healing (through Tactical Mastery) and Critical Rating)
  2. Confidence (Great for extra Critical and some Finesse)
  3. Honour (Excellent for extra Morale and Critical Defence) *Swap this with Wit if you need more Finesse.
  4. Loyalty (Number 1 virtue for Morale, for any class)
  5. Fidelity (Gives decent Morale + Tactical Mits)

If you don’t have these virtues, here are some alternatives:

  • Wit
  • Wisdom
  • Innocence
  • Compassion

Legendary Items

These are pretty straight-forward for Yellow Minstrel, they use the same LIs from Blue Line and there’s no need to make any dedicated LIs for Yellow Minstrel.

*Note: Please use Word of Craft Traceries as per Stat Goals. Generally Critical Rating is better to take from Word of Crafts, as you get more passive Mastery from Primary Stats. So Critical Rating from WoC will be better in the long-term.

The only thing you don’t need is Call to Ioreth, as it’s not available in Yellow Line, but it’s a good Blue Line legacy, so you can keep it.

Here is what I do on Minstrel, but before I proceed I will give a little bit of important information which is required to know in order to be a good and effective healer.

Following a strict rotation will not make you an effective healer, but what will is your capacity and timing to react, to heal the person which needs the heal. For that, you need to be on the constant lookout (knowing mechanics helps you predict who will take the next big hit also), you need to be able to select that person which needs attention fast enough. So, to conclude, being able to react fast enough to who’s taking damage and following a good rotation to counter that damage, makes an effective healer.

Pre-combat buffs:

  • Swap to the 2nd Yellow Buff Tree which has all the buffs and give all Anthems to your group:
    • Use Anthem of War
    • Use Anthem of Prowess
    • Use Anthem of Composure
    • Now use Anthem of Melody
    • Lastly, use Call to Greatness
    • Swap back to Yellow-Blue Healing Tree

In-fight Rotation:

  1. You do not have access to some of the good things from Blue in this spec, such as Bolster AoE healing and SoS skill, so healing will be limited to mostly Single-target and most of the AoE healing will come from Inspire Fellows, so pretty much try to keep that skill on cooldown if the group is taking sustained damage.
  2. If someone needs focused/emergency healing, this could be your tank or some DPS class, I use a Single-target bubble (Song of Hammerhand) if I have it available. Next I use Coda – Chorus – RtS – Bolster – Chord. This usually brings them up back to a safe level.
  3. For emergency group heals, where everyone needs a top up, I use Triumphant Spirit – Chord – Inspire Fellows. Use Fellowship’s Heart if you still cannot keep up with group damage.
  4. Refresh Anthem of War and all other Anthems every 2 minutes when idle.
  5. Use Inspire Fellows often to keep the -incoming damage buff on group going.
  6. Try to mix Cry of Chorus into rotation as much as you can, it cuts animation of skills, gives you a +40% outgoing healing boost for 10s. It really should never be off cooldown for long, keep using it.
  7. If you yourself need healing, use Self bubble first (Gift of Hammerhand), and then Bolster – Chord – RtS.

Short Corruption Removal Rotation:

  1. Pre-buff with 3 Ballads always (if they are not already up).
  2. Use Anthem of Prowess and now Coda (doing so will make your next 3 Hero’s Strike skills have no cooldown).
  3. Cut Coda’s animation with Cry of the Chorus.
  4. Use Hero’s Strike x4 now.
  5. Use Piercing Cry now.
  6. Now use Anthem of Prowess again (using Cry of Chorus earlier opened this again)
  7. Now use Coda.
  8. Can use Hero’s Strike again x4 now, finish with another Piercing Cry.
  9. Lastly, use some Ballads, if they crit, they will reset Piercing Cry cooldown, so you can alternate with those 2 skills like that, Ballad – Piercing Cry – Ballad – Piercing Cry. This is assuming you are traited deep down in Yellow for this trait to work.
