Captain – LevelingLast updated: U48
Overview
Captain got a a great update in all three traitlines. Red is superior for solo leveling, but both blue and yellow are now excelent for duo or group leveling. Either as a tank with extra dps or a healer with you. Or blue with a more versatile group.
How Captain plays
Captains are versatile and can fill most roles in a fellowship, and they are at their best when supporting the group with buffs. They also empower their Brother-in-Arms, granting extra damage, healing or protection depending on the line. The core loop is moving through Battle States to keep Battle-readied and Battle-hardened active. That makes the rotation moderately difficult, but the pace is slow, which is why Captains are among the easier classes at the top end.
Choosing a traitline for levelling
Red (Lead the Charge) is offensive support with strong debuffs and bleeds, and it is the best line for levelling on your own. Blue (Hands of Healing) is a healer with lots of protection for the group and pairs well with a versatile companion. Yellow (Leader of Men) is the classic tank, with strong cooldowns and the only tank Revive skill. Blue and yellow both work well when you level as a duo or a group.

Red (Recommended)
Decent leveling line compared to other classes. In general the pets are good enough, but the extra smaller buffs from inspire arn’t that usefull.

Great with a versatile companion such as a runekeeper or champion. Keep the group alive while providing enough heals, buffs or dps to the group. Solo however, less then red. You won’t die, but it’s a lot slower
